emails I sent appear twice in Sent Mail

I am using Windows Live Mail (version 14) in conjunction with Gmail. In
Gmail, I have IMAP enabled, POP not enabled. WLM displays each "Sent Mail"
item twice, after I send it from WLM (without my directly using Gmail). What
do I need to do so that - for future mail I send - WLM will show items just
once in "Sent Mail"?
