Embed a photo in wordpad?

I am trying to place a photo (jpeg file) in a wordpad document. (I have
Windows Vista.) I am embedding it as an object, but I can't get the photo to
show or on the screen without clicking on the icon. More importantly, I
can't get the document to print and show the photo. Is this possible in
WordPad, or do I need a some real software?

Open WordPad
Click Insert > Object
Select 'Create New' radio box
Scroll down in the 'Object type' list and select 'Paintbrush Picture' >
click 'OK
WordPad will change to a Microsoft Paint interface
Resize the canvas (although you don't necessary have to)

Click Edit > Paste from > go the location of the image > select it > click
'Open'
Click File > Save > then Exit
Open back WordPad and open the document and you will see your image in the
document

If you want to resize, just double click the image > click Image >
Skew/Resize

Maybe the following free
download would be worth
a try:

OpenOffice

Thanks so much! That worked perfectly! My gripe with Microsoft is that I
was not able to find a solution after spending quite some time searching the
support website. Why can't there be a comprehensive help file for each
Microsoft Application? Oh well, enough of my complaining. Thanks for the
fix!

That information and more is already on your computer. No need to search
anywhere else.

Search for 'wordpad' in Help and Support and click the link for Wordpad,
frequently asked questions. You will see:
"What's the difference between embedding and linking an object into WordPad,
and how do I do it?"

I think this is common to all OS, it's not that the info isn't there, it
the fact that your "Obvious place to put it" is not mine etc
