I have an emergency...

I've accidently deleted (permanently) a html file and the style sheet -
BUT the webpage is still displayed in my IE7 browser...

Is their any way i can retrieve the stylesheet (i've got the html file
from elsewhere) from this page in my browser - if i refresh it it will
be lost forever - i would have lost a whole days work!!

no luck so far in finding it

Any help will be sooo welcome

thanks

Pete

You can save the web page by using File/Save as.

Show hidden files from Control Panel>Folder Options. IE Temporary Internet
Files are kept here:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp - That is the default location for the
system environmental variable %TEMP% under Vista.

If the file isn't in there, then it is probably gone or perhaps not even
saved. Maybe if you gave some more information about what program you were
working in, people could help you further. I'm not sure why you would think
a style sheet you created in an application like Dreamweaver (for ex.) but
neglected to save would be *anywhere*.

Another thing to try is if you have Vista Business or Ultimate, use the
Previous Versions feature.

1. You must have Business or Ultimate edition.
2. You must have System Restore monitoring the drive on which the files
were.
3. Browse to the folder where the deleted file was saved.
4. Right-click that folder and click on "Restore previous versions".

There is a third-party program, Shadow Explorer, that allows you to do this
on Vista Home:

http://www.shadowexplorer.com/

If the file was never saved at all, of course the Shadow Copy thing won't
work.

Try an un-erase program, there are plenty of free ones that you can find
on google.

Recuva is a good un-erase application. I've used it and been surprised at
exactly what it has found. (www.recuva.com)
