emergency please help

Ok, it is 09:06 in the morning an di have been up all night. After a
crash, i lost all of my desktop and icons and programme shortcuts. Some
programs would not start and after an exhausting night, i have managed
to fix that issue. However i need help to get all my program short cuts
back into the start menu and desk top. PLease help me with this issue.

Hello JockPsychic,

You should also be able to do a '*_System_Restore_*'
(http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76...store-how.html) using
a restore point dated before this happened to restore these as well.

If not, then you can manually create new shortcuts from the program's
exe files in the "C:\Program Files\(program folder)" folders.
Afterwards, you can move the shortcuts to the Start Menu and desktop.

Why not simply restore from your backup?
