Emoticons don't show up in screen!

Hi there, I downloaded 8.0(build 8.0.0812) about a month ago and since then i
have not been able to see emoticons on my screen and it's driving me crazy!
Has anyone got any ideas why?! Any help/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
