Emoticons gone after Update

Hi,

after the last Update my Emoticons was gone.
No WI wouild like to Update the Messenger again.

Is anybody know in which File are all the Emoticons saved ? So I will save
this File befor the Update.

I am using the WinXP SP3 (SP3 Beta) and the MSN 8.1 and I would like to
updat the MSN to 8.5

Hi Thomas,

Gotcha. Although you really shouldn't have any problem updating as the store hasn't changed
in 8.5, you'll find the files here:
\Documents and Settings\username\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\LiveID\ObjectStore\Custom Emoticons.

Where username is your Windows XP username and LiveID is your Windows Live ID e-mail address.

Additionally, some of these folders will be hidden by default, to see them simply press the
Alt key on the keyboard in any Windows Explorer window to bring up the toolbar, click Tools,
then Folder Options, then the View tab, and then choose 'Show hidden files and folders'.
After click OK, they should appear with the other folders.

Finally, all these paths and options will be localized in whatever language your Windows
version is in, my apologies in advance for only giving the English paths.
