Emoticons lost ability to send/receive them

Seems like "all of a sudden" I can not send or receive all emoticons, send
'nudge', or receive contacts "pictures". Everything used to work fine. I
have 'upgraded' to WLM 8 beta - should I be looking for an active x, a new
flash player, or ???? I have tried using WLM without any virus or firewall
to test if that was the problem - but that seems to not be it. Why can't I
utilize these tools?

Can you be clear about what happens when you try? Any error messages, etc.?
