emoticons wont work since adding XP SP2

after getting my pc up and working again thx to u people...now the emoticons
on chat sites wont work at all!! any ideaa on what i have to do to get them
to work? b4 the SP2 all i had to do was re-install microsofts VM. tried that
again but it didnt work. another plee of help!!!!

I am sorry that you are hitting this issue. This does not seem like a Windows
Update problem. Perhaps these other newsgroups would be more helpful:
