Hi, I have used MSN messenger and previous Microsoft IM products for a long
time.. There has been a lot improvements in the MSN Live Messenger and a lot
of new features have been added into it. I like it a lot. :-) But still there
is one thing that it is still the same during all these years... how about to
give us a feature/tool that we can organize the emotion icons easier.. e.g.
now if I have a bunch of icons I want to add. I have to add it manually one
by one.. browse to the icon (then trying to figure out which icon is which by
looking into the filename), give it a shortcut name when I know which one is
which.. and then an icon name.. finally add it.. there are too much clicks to
get there.. It would be nice if I had an interface where I can see all the
images by thumbnails and the select all of them and import into the
messenger. would also be nice if I could later list them all again and change
the shortcut name. you could do a lot of things in this area.. but still the
interface is the same like in the old days.... why?

Agree wholeheartedly myself, but would also like to add.....

With the custom emoticons, I can't find a way to save them to be able to add
into my new computer....... I did read somewhere if you copied a certain
folder in MSN Messenger in Application Data that it would include all your
emoticons, well it certainly didn't work, copied the folder, and the
emoticons are there, but am unable to access them from Messenger.... Anyone
got any suggestions.

Thanks

well you can't.. it seems the messenger has some kind of DB or file that
organize the emotion icons. as you can see it saves the icons as *.dt2
files.. and the filenames are very randomized.. so somewhere in the
messenger.. it must has a list of pointers that translates your shortcut name
into the path/filename. I haven't found that file/DB yet.
if it is a textfile I where can easily access.. it will solve partly my
problem. I can then add/remove icons easily

what we can do so far.. we can copy that folder as a backup.. i'm not sure
if it is becuase I am using the windows live messenger Beta version...

I have noticed that If I log into my messenger with an another account.. I
can't add the same emotion icons into the new accuont. The messenger says
that the emotion icon is already being used?!??!?!!!!!!
