Empty Folder in C Drive on Vista that is called $$DeleteMe

Does anyone else have an empty folder on their C drive called
$$DeleteMe$$DeleteMe (note the deleteme repeats many times) then a series of
numbers and letters - does anyone know what this is and where it came from

Sandi,

The folder might have been left back after some third party program installation.

Then can I ssume since its empty that I can delete it.

Yes, an empty folder can generally be deleted without any problems.
As long as there are no 'hidden' files/folders in there.
But based on the name of the folder, I'd say nuke it!
