I'm not sure what printer the OP has, but mine is an Epson Stylus Photo
785EPX. I don't have any issues with the driver either, however I know that
the "Status Monitor" program itself does not work in Vista... The driver
provides the ink level monitoring without the Status Monitor, so it's not
needed anyway...
With my printer, I had to download updates through Windows Update in order
to get the printer to function, it wasn't just a matter of letting windows
check online for the proper driver...
