I have a 1650 Photo scanner that I finally managed to get working in my
Vista Home Premium. First, I found a Vista compatible driver for the
scanner on the Epson site. Downloaded and installed the driver. No real
joy at what came up--- a very poor unusable imitation of the
scanner----despite the Epson comments not to use the installation disc that
came with the scanner I figured there was nothing to lose. Put in the
original CD and went through the install process and it actually worked.
Later on when trying to put in some of the patches and upgrades it got all
screwed up again. Eventually, I went through many iterations of trying all
kinds of stuff, finally ending up uninstalling and reinstalling. The only
patch that now refuses to work is the one to upgrade the Copy function.
Good Luck--it wasn't fun
