Greetings,
It's not in the registry, it's in your crypto store in your Windows profile.
To remove your password from Messenger, just run, right-click the icon in the notification
area (by the clock) and choose Sign Out if you're signed in. Then, double-click the icon to
bring it up and choose "Forget me" to remove that saved password.
Any other Messenger, Passport or Windows Live ID passwords saved will be in your key ring.
You can get to this by clicking Start, choose Run (if using XP only), type:
control userpasswords2
and hit Enter.
Choose the Advanced tab, and then 'Manage Passwords'. You can remove them in that dialog.
