Not sure where this should be listed,
but............
All of a sudden I'm getting an error code when
trying to do Windows Update......Error number:
0x80092026. I have tried all the help sections
and
went to the news-groups for help but the
suggestion
didn't solve my problem. I also couldn't
validate,
have before, but I get the yellow bar and click on
Install Active X. Shows it's installing but still
can't
validate when finished and still can't get my
updates.

I also have jroundup.com trying to get me to
sign in. Don't know how I got this. I thought
I had Windows Defender turned on but can't
find it in my Add/Remove programs list.
I'm afraid to try downloading again as I
might mess up my PC worse.

I reset my Security to default in both IE6 & OE.
I am running Win XP Media Edition SP2 on
Dell Inspirion E1505 laptop. 1gb Mem

If MS XP gives the "Error #: 0x80092026" as a
response when the problem was found, but how
come I can't find any info on it on the MS / KB
site.
MS made the err #, why don't they post the
solution.

I am running Win XP Media Edition SP2 on
Dell Inspirion E1505 laptop. 1gb Mem

Help ! Thank in advance.

0x80092026 = Crypt_E_Security_Settings
The cryptographic operation failed due to a local security option setting
