Error- 0x0800246008

I have tried to download kb912812 close to 50 times since the 25th of April
,06 , have been on my cell phone for 3 hrs with tech support, finally gave up
with tech support he strip my computer of it defense's which made my computer
voluble. I finally had to end tech support I ask him to email me instructions
, to try and solve this nightmare with windowsupdate, it is the 3rd of May
06, and no email from microsofts tech support.
My question is has anyone out here had this type of error in windows update
0x0800246008 which comes up when kb912812 down loads but fails to install.

I have read out here a few suggestions which others have had with some
solutions I tried them, but they did not work.
I am open to any suggestions. help me solve this issue please Thanks,

Which Windows version are you running?

Did you "move" the Program Files folder onto another partition?
To check, simply enter %programfiles% into the address bar in Windows Explorer
and hit [Enter]. Note the folder and path, which is displayed afterwards in
Windows Explorer. Now enter %systemdrive%\Program Files into the address bar
and hit [Enter] again. Is the same folder and path displayed like above?
In case that's not the same folder and path, you've found the culprit for
KB912812 not installing.

Nobody knows, what you've tried exactly - except yourself ;-)
