Error 0x641 Windows Update

Anyone having troubles installing MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978) &
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1. With an Error Code 0x641

This error is resolved by making sure the Windows Installer service is set
to Automatic and the service is started. Services are located... Control
Panel > Adminastrative Tools > Services

Another tip When updating XP via Windows Update site always make sure the
following services are running : Automatic Updates, Background Intelligent
Transfer Service, Event Log & Windows Installer.

Both Updates are now installed successfully.

I've done all the steps you've mentioned but oddly there's no "Windows
Installer" service on my machine -> Win2K SP4, IE 6.0.2800

Would you happen to have any other suggestions? I tryed the process you have
put out with no result. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.
