Error 0x800700003

Running XP Home. Can not update for BITS 2.0 Windows HTTP 5.1 ??
Windows update can not find XP SP 2 for updating ???

You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an
update from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server
Update Services

I can't help with BITS.
Why bother with SP2 when SP3 is the current system pack? It took this
system about 30 minutes to go from SP2 + all the updates since SP2 to SP3.
You had better be certain that your computer is ready for SP2 or SP3 before
installing either one.

I am running SP1 and can not install Norton Sec. because of this.

I believe 2009 editions of Norton applications require WinXP SP3 to be
installed. In any event, the following should get you sorted and prepared
for installing the Norton software. I suggest you print it for offline
reference.

HOW TO get WinXP SP1 fully patched:

1. Download & save the installer for WinXP SP3 to your desktop:

[Yes, you can skip WinXP SP2 altogether.]

2. Read & heed:

3. Logged in as Administrator, if necessary, double-click on the saved file
to install WinXP SP3. Follow all prompts; be patient, and reboot twice when
the install completes.

4. Do Resolution Method 1 and/or 2 here (trust me):

5. Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com | Install any required software
then click on CONTINUE | Select CUSTOM and scan | Install any critical
security updates offered. Again, follow all prompts.

[I do NOT recommend installing IE7 via Windows Update.]
