Those having a problem with the Windows Automatic Update error #
0X80070424, with a missing Automatic Update Tab in System Properties, with
the cryptic dialog error message Service Marked For Deletion or with
Norton’s persistently disabled Auto-Protect feature and possibly an even
more extensive list of dysfunctions and hidden enablements, may be unaware
of a possible and elusive Trojan tie-in and wish to view this thread.

I encourage you to read the exchange. However to go directly to the
procedure I used for remediation without reading the entire threaded
exchange look for the offset entry to the left by Paul, dated 8/26/2004 or
visit the Symantec site and search for the Trojan.Boxed…variations.
