Error 0x8007042B Installing .NET Framework

I received error code 0x8007042B while trying to install the .NET framework
on Win2000 Pro (with all other updates, hotfixes and service packs
installed). I can't find anything in the Knowledge Base or elsewhere that
even begins to provide any help or offer an explanation for this error.

This error means - ERROR_PROCESS_ABORTED
Not much help I know.
