I understand that you are getting 0x80070643 while trying to install Windows Live Products.

This issue can occur if one of the previous installations places your computer in a reboot pending state.

To resolve this issue, please follow the steps below.

Tips before starting:

Visit http://download.live.com and download the latest Messenger Programme Windows Live 2009 and save to Desktop for your ease.

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility from this site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 and also save to Desktop.

Solving Steps:

1. The first step is to use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility Programme that you recently downloaded above.

2. Start the Programme which can be found by Clicking Start, click All Programs and then click on Windows Install Clean Up (Do not click on the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility Install button again as this only re-installs the programme and does not carry out the search).

3. On the list of Installed Products, select all instances that have (All Users) Windows Live on it. To make sure that you are removing the right programs, click on one item at a time then click on the Remove button until all entries with (All Users) Windows Live are deleted from the list (you may have 8 Products or more listed). Do not delete anything else!

4. Click "Exit."

5. Restart your computer to make sure that all changes made will take effect.

6. After restarting the computer Install the latest version of the Windows Live 2009 Programme that you recently downloaded.


This has resolved the issue for my numerous errors when trying to load the new Windows Live 2009 Programme and is not however guaranteed. I hope this helps you, regards Ness.

the screen saying something roughly around you can update windows live
messenger click here too
Something like that, i install it but then it goes.
There was a problem with this Installation. Windows live suite was not

Assistance on Windows XP requires Windows Messenger to be installed (note, not just
Windows -Live- Messenger). Live Messenger and Windows Messenger are two separate products

That said, just download and install Windows Messenger from the following link. After that,
you can then use Remote Assistance within Windows Live Messenger

Windows live mess did work until a windows update was installed last summer.

Looking for a solution to the error code 0x80070643.
When trying to install windows live I receive 0x80070643
It?s not possible to remove or repair the live mess.
Have been in contact with live mess support. I have been asked to test sveral ways to solve this issue but so far no sucess. windows install clean up can remove all windows live things, but still windows live essentials is visual in windows add / remove programs.
Not possible to remove or repair

Any one knows what to do ?

Yes. Get more information from the log that your install attempt creates.

What was it?

Also, in case the log does not provide sufficient clues to help identify the
cause you could try doing the install manually, activate as much additional
diagnostics as possible, e.g. add a verbose switch, and if that's not enough
you can supplement all that with a ProcMon trace of that attempt.

De um momento para o outro deixei de conseguir entrar no messenger, ent?o fui fazer uma atualiza??o do Windows Live, mas n?o consigo aparece sempre o erro: 0x80070643. Pode ajudar-me
