Hello Scott,

In your other post you mentioned that you are running on SBS2003?
I'm surprised to see that you can use WUv5 on it.
Do you know how long you have been able to do that?
Did you do a beta of it first?

FWIW I have XPsp2 and I first got WUv5 as a result of installing
XPsp2RC1. Part of getting WUv5 to work properly for me after
installing XPsp2RTM involved clearing out the SoftwareDistribution
directory using Torgeir Bakken's tip which is now incorporated into
the WUv5 troubleshooter; search for that directory name and find, e.g.

http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...cleid=17&ln=en

Hmm... that says it's applicable to Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 too.
Somehow I had the idea that Windows 2000 (at least) was still using
WUv4.

Your other post also mentioned "WUSAdmin" which gives me the idea
that you might be part of the WUS beta test. If so, you might get better
help from the WUS or SUS newsgroups.

The other thing that your log suggests to me is a possible problem
from connecting through a firewall. E.g. the problem appears right
after a check for proxy settings. If you have a firewall in effect see
if it has any diagnostics in it which could give you any more clues.
Of course the best thing to do would be to take an HTTP packet
trace on your client and see if things are going that far.

HTH
