Error 0x80072EE2: My Solution

My problem with Windows Update happened after downloading and installing
security updates. I narrowed my problem down to Security Update KB917953.
After unistalling this update using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel,
I was able to access the Windows Update site. I don't know the implications
of removing this security update, but I'd rather take the risk than to
blocked to important sites other than Windows Update. This security update
also affected my ability to access some financial sites and the accounts
areas of sites like Real Networks.

The only known issue listed for KB917953
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917953
deals with RealSecure Desktop 7.0 with XPU version ENO on a Win 2K system.
The update was Published: June 13, 2006
