Error 0x80072F76 - Windows Update

This is the 3rd time to post this request for help with this initialization
error on windows update page. Cannot scan or check to install updates. I
get this error #. My automatic updates does work. However, I just can't
figure it out.

Was working with microsoft on this issue to get a fix. They were not
successful. They are sending my SP2 on CD to install. Yet, I already have
SP2 installed. On the other hand, it is not listed in my add and remove
programs to remove it. When I check system informatiion - it is listed there
as installed.

Another thing, too. I have no windowsupdate.log. Just a windowsupdate.
Not specified as a ".log". Did e-mail microsoft this file and my NFO File.
Guess the information was not helpful to them to find a fix for the error.

Is there anyone who can help me solve this error? I have already done lote
of trouble shooting. And other checks asked by microsoft and information
from the fix list. Nothing has worked. Keep thinking to myself that if I do
a system recovery, that would fix it. But I would loose everything I have in
it. And then of course, I feel that doing this would fix it for a short time
and then the error would still occure.

Ask for help from anyone who knows the fix for this error 0x80072F76.
