Error 0x800A0005 on Using Manual WIndows Update from IE 7

Manual update refuses to work for me. I get a short flash telling me that
ActiveX Controls are installed and then an error saying update can not go on
and it cites error 0x800A0005. I am running XP Pro + SP2 and was getting the
same thing in IE 6 included with that package.

I cannot seem to find any kind of document on MS Web Sites that address this
error or how to fix it.

Any ideas?
