I have tried everything posted here "twice" w/o luck. I have installed SP2
from CD, but had this problem before that. Here's the tail end of my log.
Hope it helps. Please Help!!!

Updates from the Windows Update Web site are not installed and an "Error
0x80070005: Access is denied" error message is logged to the Windows
Update.log file

Please also have a look at: "Access denied" section here:

Thanks for the reply, but, this wasn't much help.
I was missing the Drive:\WUTemp folder. I created it.
Windows update has full permissions.
I'm thinking that there's something else that needs permission...
SP2 loaded fine, it's v5 Windows update that isn't working. V4 works fine.
Also, are current updates available on V4?
Thanks again.

I figured it out and will post my solution since it's not specifically stated
as an issue here.

Under the Guests Group was the User "NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users"
Removing this user from the Guests Group solved my problem.
