Error 0x800B0004 with SUS on server 2003

Installed SUS on a server2003 system. Tried to sync and got this message:-
Errors:
The catalog file downloaded from
'http://www.msus.windowsupdate.com/msus/v1/aucatalog1.cab' has a missing or
invalid digital signature. (Error 0x800B0004: The subject is not trusted for
the specified action.)
Tried many times and eventually downloaded 300+ updates. None show in
'Approve Updates' window and got same error at end of download
