error 0x800CCC0D

Hi. I've been using Vista and Live Mail for some time no problem. Today I
downloaded and installed latest batch of updates from Windows, restarted and
suddenly Live Mail isn't working. The message I get is:

Unable to send or receive messages for the account. The host
'mail.btinternet.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered
the server name correctly.

Server: 'mail.btinternet.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0D
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 11001

I have not changed any settings so assume it must be to so with the updates.
Can anyone help please? Thanks.

That error means just what it says - Host not found. The chances are it's a
temporary glitch at BT's end (mail.btinternet.com is an alias for a number
of Yahoo mail servers) so wait a bit and try again. In the meantime, you
could try opening a command window (I don't know how you do that on Vista -
on XP it's enough to type cmd at Start > Run), typing telnet
mail.btinternet.com 110 and pressing Enter. You should get an OK from
popgate on one of the Yahoo servers. If you don't, there could be something
wrong with your internet connection.
