I have WSUS 3.0 providing updates for a number of computers on our network.
One of our computers is having a problem with KB973354 and will not install
it. I have tried reinstalling the update on the machine through WSUS and
also through Windowsupdate to no avail. The machine had 11 other patches
successfuly install lastnight/this morning, but this one is a major pain. As
far as I have seen, this is the only machine to have the problem. The
machine is 1 year old and it runs XP SP3 w/IE 7. This is the first time an
update has failed on the machine. Any help would be appreciated.

Somehow I cannot post any message on the discussion forum for WSUS so I have
to use the reply function to post my question here.
1) we use WSUS 3.0
2) we have a seperate OU for servers. When I run windows update on a local
server, it show no any windows update but in WSUS we can see some windows
update patches still not completed
3) if we ran MBSA on a server then we found what are we missing on a local
server.
4) someone told me if your servers are managed, it will not shown any
available update patches on a local server until you run MBSA.

Does anyone expereience the same issue?

Truly, confirmed issues with *one* specific patch should be addressed with
the forum/product group responsible for that product.

Here... "WSUS".... we're just kinda the messenger. If the message isn't
readable, you need to talk to the writer.

In the case of KB973354, you probably need to talk to some OE experts who
might be able to help you analyze why this update will not install on your
one XP SP3 machine.

FWIW, I just successfully installed this update to an XP SP3 machine running
IE7 -- so it's not a fault with the update, XP SP3, or IE7.
