error 0x80240016

Has anyone seen error 0x80240016 when trying to do updates (in my case, while
updating .net framework 1.1 to SP1). The first time thru, Windows update
appeared to hang, so I stopped it with task manager. After that the update
gives the above error and fails to do anything else. The following messages
appear in the log file

2004-09-09 00:21:46-0500 1844 ce0 WU client fails
CClientCallRecorder::BeginInstallUpdates from WindowsUpdate with error
0x80240016
2004-09-09 00:21:46-0500 2140 cd4 ISusInternal::BeginInstallUpdates failed,
hr=80240016
2004-09-09 00:21:46-0500 2140 cd4 Failing to start installation due to error
(hr=80240016)

Hi Trev,

The problem showed up because the first installation attempt wasn't finished
yet. If this problem persists even after a couple of hours, simply
restarting your computer should get it working.

Hi Trev,

The reason you may receive this error it appears you have an ongoing install
is pending or you may need to reboot the machine.
