I have been unable to get this update to install after many attempts.
I am running XP Pro SP2 with all current updates installed except this one. My Windows directory is C:\Windows, but Programs are D:\Program Files; I have seen previous post about reseting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion registry key ProgramFilesDir back to C:\Program Files since C:\Windows is the Windows installation location. I have done this with my Norton Antivirus disabled; still with no luck. Internet Explorer seems to be malfunction now also (keeps locking up, though I normally use another browser) Any help on this is appreciated - Thanks, crwhite2 The contents of my KB905915 is listed Could you please temporarily disable NAV and then manually download the
update ? For XP SP2 : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...4-2869E371C9D1 Save WindowsXP-KB905915-x86-ENU.exe to the Desktop. After the download is completed close Internet Explorer and then install it. Did that work ? I did not mention in original message that I have attempted to install the
update manually several times also. My computer is scanned 3 times a week by Microsoft AntiSpyware, Spybot, and Ad-Aware SE. I have a firewall on router and antivirus protection on always. I have not attempted to install this in "Safe Mode" - Can the update be installed that way?? I just went through all the procedures listed on

One note though - I get this message in HijackThis.log file: "Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Unable to get Internet Explorer version!" As I said previously IE has been malfunctioning since I first begun attempting this update. I normally use another browser (Maxthon- which does use the IE engine). Since the update is in .exe format it should be able to install from
within Safe Mode. In regards to the HijackThis log, have you posted it on a forum ?
