Error: 0x80244017

I have a Windows 2003 server that is failing to update via the Windows update
site and I continually get the above error. We are not using any proxy and
the proxycfg command shows direct connection. We have about 400 Windows
servers (2000/2003) and only one or two are having a problem. I have tried
all the fixes discussed in other posts regarding this particular error
(delete/rename things in the windows\softwaredistribution directory, etc.)
without any success.

I haven't been able to find any solution so any help would be appreciated.
