who will love Microsoft if one Microsoft product not work with other

Can you use any of the workarounds?

nope - i am so called "end user"... not administrator... why WU try send
credentials to proxy if i use proxy client and all requests is
"transparent"?.. Firefox can get updates, but MS IE can`t? Very funny...
Microsoft still spend about 800 000 000 $ per year for "support"?.. it same
as if you broke legs for somebody and then give him "very expensive"
support...

I solved the "0x8024402C" error somehow. I did three things, but I'm sure one
of them is the actual thing that worked.

I updated the proxy list using the "proxycfg -u" to import the proxy
settings from the internet explorer since I'm behind a proxy server
"CCProxy". Then, in my Zone alarm firewall, I added the Windows Update
AutoUpdate client, located in the %Windir%\System32 and gave it permission to
access the net, and at last, from the CCProxy on the proxy server, I disabled
the authentication step, so I have direct access and I don't need to
authenticate, I think that's what solved it for me. I added a user with no
password and that did it for me. I think the same thing should work on any
proxy server. Since the "0x8024402C" error is about proxy stuff mainly. Good
luck guys
