Error # 0x80245003 MS Update

I'd been runnng Beta 2 for quite some time without any problems whatsoever,
downloaded B2TR which then created the problem with NAV resolved with
Patrick Schmid (MVP)'s assistance Re: Major Problem with Beta Technical
Refresh).

I now find that I cannot use Windows Update Site for any purpose as I
continually see the error message: -

Error Number: 0x80245003. Windows Update has encountered an error and
cannot display the requested page. Problem here is that any additional
information pages displayed also lead nowhere although I have managed to
locate KB919749 unfortunately this has not resolved the issue and I still
cannot use either Windows or Microsoft Update Site irrespective of how I
arrive at site.

I am uable to go to the Windows Update both manually and automatically. I
think it may have something to do wit downloading Internet Explorer 7.
Everything was fine until then but microsoft doesnt think it has anything to
do with it. I am not pc expert so I would really apreciatte it if some very
smart techinicans can help everyone who is having this same problem.
I was thing of installing it but I dont know if I will be able to connect
back on the WEB????
My connection is high speed cable modem.
I downloaded Intenet Explorer 6 to uninstall IE 7 how I just dont know if it
the correct way to fix Windows Update!

This has been going on for weeks and I emailed microsoft.com and they sent
back insturctions and tech things to do about every 4 days. The last time I
emailed them was over a week ago and I still didn not hear from them, so I am
at a lost.
I did each instruction to no evial.
I dont think Microsoft has an Update/Hotfix for us to download. Why are we
still getting the ERROR # 0x80245003?

I am sure hoping that there will be alot of very smart techies who know how
to fix Windows Update and I thank you in advance for some real solutions.
I know techies can fix these critical Updates our PC'S need ASAP!!

It would help if you listed what you were asked to do.

If you have actually cleared your SoftwareDistribution folder
(as the article suggests) and are still getting the same error code
it probably means that you are really not getting that error but
some earlier one which is more significant. Look in your log
for clues. (Ref. KB902093)
