error 0x80246002

Been trying to install SQL Server 2005 SP2 recently and both times I tried
after the whole download finished (~280 Megs) and before starting the
installation process I got the error mentioned in the subject.

Might be relevant:

I have Visual Studio 2005 installed prior to SQL Server on the PC.
PC is a dell inspiron with Win XP SP2.
Using Microsoft Update, 2 other updates at the same time worked fine.
