Error# 0x8DDD0018 Windows Update not starting

It appears that, especially with V6, Windows Update, in order to work, must
have Automatic Updates, Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and Event
Log set on automatic and must be started in "Services." Otherwise, windows
update will not start and you will most likely receive the error number
0x8DDD0018. I do not know why Microsoft has changed this, but until they
change it back, it's what you need to do for Windows Update to work. Office
update appears to be unaffected.
