Ever since I tried to install a new driver for my Hewlett Packard psc 1315
printer, booting Windows Vista Ultimate in normal mode gives error
0xC004E002, "The Software Licensing Service reported that the license store
contains inconsistent data." The system just displays this error in a box on
a black screen, and I am only able to access Windows Help or Internet
Explorer (no start bar or control panel). I have tried restoring the system
to before the installation of the new driver, but to no avail. I think that
maybe reactivating Windows or changing the activation key could help, but
these options are not available in safe mode or in the recovery panel of the
DVD. Is there some other way to try different activation options?
