0xC800073C hrLogCorrupted
The database log files are damaged.
The database in question is located at
%windir%\Software Distribution\DataStore\DataStore.edb
You can attempt to repair DataStore.edb by running the following at a
Command Prompt
esentutl /p %windir%\softwaredistribution\datastore\datastore. edb
The only reason to repair DataStore.edb is to retain the update history
shown on the Windows/Microsoft Update sites.
You can rename it by stopping the Automatic Updates and BITS services
first, then navigate to DataStore.edb, and rename it with an .old
extension. Alternatively, you can just delete it after stopping AU and
BITS.
NOTE: IF BITS is not in a running state, then just stop the AU service.
To avoid this issue in the future see:
Virus scanning recommendations for computers that are running Windows
Server 2003, Windows 2000, or Windows XP
