Yes, there is a fix for it :

Extract the .NET verifier from the above .zip file and read the ReadMe
on how to use it. It's fairly simple.
Then run it to confirm that .NET Framework 1.1 is correctly installed.
If it's not, then first attempt to uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs
in the Control Panel.
If it can not be uninstalled using ARP, then download the automated
removal tool:

Now read this:

Remove .NET Framework 1.1
Reboot if requested to
Download .NET Framework 1.1 and save it:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

When the download completes close the browser and any other open programs.
Now install .NET Framework 1.1 [ dotnetfx.exe ]
Restart if requested to.


Then go here, download and *save* .NET Framework 1.1 SP1:

When the download completes close the browser and any other open
programs. Now install NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe
[ .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 ]
Restart if requested to.

Download and SAVE:

Once again, when the download completes close the browser and any other
open programs.
Now install NDP1.1sp1-KB886903-X86.exe
[ ASP.NET Security Update for .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 ]
Restart if requested to.

Download and SAVE:
..NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 SYSTEM.WEB.DLL and MSCOREE.DLL
Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server
x64/IA64 and Windows 2003 Server R2 x64/IA64
