Error 1327.Invalid Drive...

Is there anyway to install applications when you change the location of one
of your folders (My Documents, Pictures, Music, ETC) to a network drive?
This error comes up whenever I try to install any application after moving
these folder locations. When I move these folder locations back to their
default location eveything works fine.

I would like to keep these folders on the network, but by changing the
location to a network drive this error happens.

I am using Windows Vista 32 business edition on a Windows 2003 network. I
have full control of the network drive (I am the administrator). The only
thing I can figure out is that the drive is not mapped until after I log in,
and that windows has a problem with that when starting up and then continues
to have a problem with it if you try to install programs.

Why when installing a new program does it look for those folders I have no
idea, but if someone has figured out a way around this (other than putting
the folders back to their default), please let me know.

If install location is hard wired into the application, I don't think so.
However, the error has different causes and there are fixes for some of the
other causes. The following link will take you to a page with several
regarding various versions of Windows. Unfortunately, it does not contain
one for Vista but the information here might lead you to a solution for your
