Error 1500 - another install is runnung

Help!!!

I have an install somewhere that is preventing any other install from
running. It comes up with Error 1500 - another install is running. I
tried to run the cleanup utility, and I get the same error.

I need to clean this up since I have updates to my security programs
that I can't install.

Peter:

I've restarted numerous times, I don't see any instances of
msiexec.exe running. Any other clues?

No instances of MSIEXEC. I did get a solution which was to disable the
installer in Services, restart and set it to manual. Worked fine.
