Greetings Carl,
Are you sure that's the only message he's receiving? 1603 is actually a generic error which
just means the install didn't succeed, it doesn't actually tell you anything.
If there's no other actual message, have him check the Event Viewer's Application Log (Start,
Run, eventvwr.msc, OK) after trying to install and one of the entries provide the actual
problem in more detail -- or at the very least, a better error code.
