error 1935 when installing .NET Framework 1.1

I am running win98. I had to recover my computer but when I try to install
..NET Framework 1.1 I get an error 1935 , a bunch of numbers and then HRESULT
-2147319761. I have searched the net for a fix. Here is what I have done so
far: Reinstalled IE6.0 and updates, renamed mscoree.dll, and I have tried
installing the program right from microsoft.com.

Any suggestions?

try remove all using
http://astebner.sts.winisp.net/Tools...eanup_tool.zip

and reinstall them
