error 506 in application event log

hello all,
after install wusserver on w2k small bussiness server eng (with sp4) and
start update services service i have in application event log this error:
Source: Windows Server Update
Category: Update services service
Event ID: 506
Type: Error
Description: The SelfUpdate Tree is not working. Clients may not be able to
update to the latest WUA client software and communicate with the WSUS Server

any idea pleas ?

Hi,

I was having the same problem as well (though I'm not using SBS). Turned
out to be an IIS config issue....when the server was originally configured as
an SUS server a custom HTTP header was added to the default web site (as part
of a hardening exercise).

Removing the custom HTTP header got rid of the SelfUpdate error.
