Error 80070005 while installing Ver 11

I had Version 10 installed and decided to install Ver 11 on my Toshba laptop
with XP Prof.

Installation at the end was unsuccessful with error code 80070005 "Access
denied"

Now I cannot install it, cannot remove it or roll back. Verson 9 & 10 cannot
be installed.

Has anyone else had this problem? Were you able to resolve it, if yes, How?

Incidentally I had also upgraded IE 6 to 7 prior to this.

I renamed the
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMPlayer.OCX to OCX.OLD
&
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMPlayer.OCX.7 to OLD as well.

& tried reinstalling, same problem, same code

If you directly run the wmp11.exe subpackage within the WMP setup package,
do you get any clearer of any error?
