I get this message because there's some problem syncing contacts. I had to
re-install 4.2 when 4.5 was unusable, Like others I don't see a pattern to
the few fixes described on the web.. Surly MS knows what issue this is. Why
not get word up here about what to do!?

Hard resets give me the willies. I had a Palm before and hard resets
recovered well when the software pullled the info back down to populate the
device again. Hope it's true for WM5.

Where is advice from MS about this error code!?

Although I can't speak directly about your issue, as a fellow Axim X51v user,
stay away from Vista and WMDC for as long as possible. I've routinely had to
do hard resets to get my device to synchronize with my desktop. I've gone to
keeping my data on flash cards within the PDA just so I don't lose
information.

MPOMPEY,
Thank you for the warning. I am on a tablet running Tablet OS, and I plan to
avoid making the switch (to Vista) for a while if I can.

This error seems to be undocumented, and has little consistent fix pathways
in the few instances of mention on the web. How dcould MS not get out some
word on this?

My only guess would be that fear that further delay of Vista would see them
losing more market share/ $$$. Alot of the problems seem to be of the "Hurry
up and get it out there" variety.

There is a page in the Microsoft knowledge Base that seems to say that "We
don't know what causes this, either." It is dated October 2006. I guess I'll
have to try the Hard reset trick, although it has not worked for everyone.
