Error 80070436

Hi, i have a laptop Acer with Ati Radeon Express 1100 Graphics Card. Its
quality is very low, i can hardly play games created 3-4 years ago but one
day after an update it seemed to have great perfomance. That is i usually
play Call of Duty 2. That day the game played perfect. However, after a
restart, everything became as it was before. Terrible.... I noticed that what
caused this change was the ATI 4379 Serial ATA Controller which is the only
one that my computer cannot install no matter how many times i have tried. It
shows Error 80070436 and i don't know how to fix it. Can anybody help me???

Same type laptop same video card like COD2 and don't even try to play it as
COD1 not the greatest. Same problem with update but failed install causes
Vista to have to do a repair each bootup. Any fix yet?
