I keep getting this message when I try to get updates. I have checke
that updates are switched on etc.

I would be really grateful if anyone could help. I have run the "Star

Try this,
Go to Control Panel-Performance and Maintenance-Administrative Tools open
Services and verify that Automatic Updates is set to Automatic and Started.
Reboot

Have you disabled all anti-virus, anti-spyware, popup-blocker, download
accelerator, third-party firewall?

Now try to install your updates.

dorana, you posted via vistaheads, does that mean you're running Vista?

The part of the windowsupdate log you submitted is out of date.
Did you notice "2008-11-21 20:23:25:550 1120 f2c Shutdwn user declined
update at shutdown".

Please advise which OS you're using and if appropriate provide the relevant
part of the windowsupdate log for perusal.

I have tried disabling McAfee etc and then running updates but am stil
