error 80070643 Windows Update

Recently installed Vista Home Premium, then re-installed Office 2003. Cannot
update office; service pack 2 won't install. Then got error 80070643. Ran
the suggested fix from Microsoft - Click Admin Tools > Double-click services
> enable Office Source Engine > Click Startup type > Click Automatic > Click
apply. Service Status > click Start. Getting same error over and over.
Does anyone have a fix for this? Driving me crazy. (unrelated) Also getting
re-starts on IE 7 browser; not sure if related to updates, but have been
using Safari as a work around. Please advise re: live updates issue.
