Error 80070714 on Windows Update

I cannot update Microsoft Windows Vista because of this error. At first, I
thought it was an issue with WSUS. But after a brief search on the i-net, I
believe it is something else. Most people seemed to be having the issue with
Spyware Doctor. But I'm not running it (I don't believe). Any idea why this
might be happening?

80070714 ERROR_RESOURCE_DATA_NOT_FOUND
The specified image file did not contain a resource section.

Is the system updating via WSUS or directly from the update servers ?

Check to see if Spyware Doctor is installed in the Control Panel,
Installed Programs. If so, disable the ' On Guard Protector ' prior to
attempting to update.
