Error 80072745

I've been getting the error 80072745 constantly for the past 6 weeks - I
haven't been able to sign in at all. When I click troubleshoot it says
hostfile problem.

I have been told to add things to my hostfile but I would need a step by
step in doing this which I have been unable to find. I've tried everything
else so it must be this. Can anyone help PLEASE?
